How do I prepare for my first massage?

Before your massage, I would recommend becoming aware of your posture, and any weird positions you might commonly sit in throughout your day.  I encourage you to also take a moment and focus your mind on your body; see if any spots feel particularly tight or uncomfortable. Try to notice any particular feelings as well. Lastly, you will need to fill out the intake form sent to you via email or text closer to the session.

What are the benefits of massage therapy?

Massage is a really helpful tool for stress, as it’s most commonly known for, but it can also be a great tool for physically active people. Whether that be physical labored jobs, hobbies, or other forms of building muscle. Massage is also great for increasing range of motion for every day activities. Massage can also help with digestion and bringing down cortisol by calming the nervous system and getting you into a trance-like state, otherwise known as meditation.

How long are the massage sessions?

Depending on session length, I would add about 30 extra minutes on both sides. Generally I do an intake for the session that takes about 5-10 minutes, let you get into the table, session time, then going over the session and checkout which takes about 10-15 minutes.

Do you offer package deals or discounts? (Student, restaurant)

As of right now no package deals but some to come. I do offer discounts to restaurant/ bar employees and students.

Massage therapy covered by insurance?

I believe some insurances may have coverage for massage if deemed medically necessary. So it’s uncommon for massage practices to accept insurance.

Are there any conditions that would make massage therapy inadvisable?

Yes! If you have cancer or heart problems it’s always best to consult with a doctor before you get a massage. Same goes with pregnancies.

Sick/covid policy:

I do have a 12 hour cancellation fee with 50% charge of the session price. Depending on the situation I may be able to waive the fee but please try and notify me as soon as possible.

How often should I get a massage?

It really depends! That is something we go over after the session ends, but typically most of the time I recommend monthly unless you’re in the gym 6-7 days a week.
